06 Jan “I just feel low and I can’t seem to snap out of it. What can I do?”
Divorce can make you feel out of sorts and this can be uncomfortable, especially for those of us who are naturally upbeat. There are some techniques you can use to snap yourself out of the slump, but you have to be prepared to take some action.
1st step is to act as if you are happy. By that I mean stand up taller with your shoulders back and put a smile on your face. I did say that you have to work at this…I know it may not be what you feel like doing but it will make you happier.
2nd step is start moving your body. A great way to change the way you feel is to get some exercise. If you don’t like breaking a sweat then a simple walk around the block or dancing to your favourite song in the kitchen will be a good start.
The 3rd step is to change what you are focusing on and start to think and talk only about things that make you feel good. It can be difficult if you have been wallowing in the negativity of your situation for a while but if you genuinely want to feel better this will work.
The 4th step is to surround yourself with people that make you feel good about yourself too.
Finally the 5th step is to eat a healthy and balanced diet. Juicing is a great way to instantly boost your energy levels.
If you put these 5 steps into action you will feel better. The more you practice them the easier they will be and the faster you will be able to shift yourself from feeling low to feeling good.
